Discovery of Wolf Parade

I heard about these guys before but I finally watched one of their music videos and really liked it. I still like it. Even right now. Even right now.

Kimya Dawson is Awesome

I met this woman when I was in Olympia and am now obsessed with her music. It's like listening to all the music I would make if I could. Here is one great song- "I'm Fine"

Magial Sweet Potato at Green Gulch Farm!

I helped start a community garden at Green Gulch. I then started a small csa where I can distribute the veggies to friends and family. It's fun and lots of work. The sprinkler broke yesterday so I am currently kinda screwed. Here are a few pics of the project:

The Mixed Community

I started a new blog. It's helping me figure out who I am. It's called The Mixed Community and it is about black/white mixed race people stuff. Did you know there are studies out there that say first generation mixed people are 2x as likely to have psychological disorders than monoracial people? I believe it. Being mixed is stressful.

Tommie Sunshine: The World's Best DJ

This guy changed my life. I was on an academic trip to Miami and happened to stumble into a party this guy was DJing for. Well it turned out to be a Vice party. I couldn't stop staring at this guy- he just seemed so cool! Well I picked up a few copies of Vice that were hanging around the club and low and behold I was interning for them by the end of that semester. In fact I moved to New York to work for them and my whole world, for about a year, revolved around Vice, electroclash and cute hipster boys. Thanks Tommie.
